20 February 2012 -- Appsbroker Consulting Limited a Google Premier Enterprise Reseller of the Google Apps™ suite of communication and collaboration tools announces that it has been awarded a Framework Agreement for the provision of G-Cloud services by the Government Procurement Service (GPS).

G-Cloud aims to make available the best industry IT services and solutions off the shelf so government, its agencies and related bodies can use what it needs when it needs it, at the right price and not create duplicate services that cannot be shared.  G-Cloud is all about making it easier for suppliers and government to work together. The aim of this phase of G-Cloud is create a government marketplace of cloud services - called the Government Application Store. As the name suggests G-Cloud is focused on cloud-based services – this includes public and private cloud.

In November 2011 Appsbroker responded to the GPS tender for G-Cloud services and inclusion on the Framework is warmly welcomed.  Appsbroker has worked closely with Google on some of the UK’s most significant Google Apps deployments.  As a consequence Appsbroker is well placed to help public sector bodies fully exploit the benefits and collaborative potential of Google cloud services.

“We are delighted to have been included on on the G-Cloud Framework and are very much looking forward to working with the public sector. Local government and agencies are under enormous pressure to provide quality services with reduced means. Google’s messaging and collaboration tools offer a real opportunity  and come with a proven track record in the commercial space”, says Mike Conner, founder and director of Appsbroker.

Google Apps brings simple, powerful communication and collaboration tools to organisations of any size – all hosted by Google to streamline setup, minimise maintenance, and reduce IT costs.  With Gmail (including Google email security, powered by Postini), Google Calendar, and integrated IM users can stay connected and work together with ease. And, using Google Docs and Google Sites, which include word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and website creation tools, they can share files and collaborate in real-time, keeping versions organized and available wherever and whenever users work.

Appsbroker was founded in 2006 to help customers exploit the emerging cloud opportunity.  Since becoming one of the first Google Enterprise Resellers in the UK the company has focused on Google  Apps, Postini, Google Search Appliance, as well as Google’s Geo-spatial and Platform technologies for businesses.
