How a retail solution provider mirrored its current estate in Google Cloud
THE CUSTOMER
A leading retail solution provider that helps grocers increase revenue, loyalty & engagement by enabling them to deliver seamless product discovery experiences based on individual dietary & lifestyle needs. They aim to make food shopping smarter and easier for everyone.
OUR ROLE
The customer engaged Appsbroker to advise how to design a Google Cloud target state architecture that offered like-for-like functionality, reliability, observability, security and deployment capability compared to their current infrastructure.
THE CHALLENGE
The customer required an assessment of its current components for serverless compatibility so they could extract all non-functional requirements across reliability, scalability, security, observability and configuration testing.
THE SOLUTION
Appsbroker ran discovery workshops to review the current configuration management process, including validating the deployed infrastructure-as-code. A high-level design document was created, covering the architecture and configuration management of their Google Cloud, with recommendations on what to create, refactor and improve upon to provide a vital CI/CD infrastructure pipeline.
THE RESULTS
Appsbroker assisted the customer in deploying one of their existing customers into Google Cloud and supports their integration and load testing whilst the environment runs in parallel on the existing infrastructure. The customer can later plan and execute the cutover to Google Cloud themselves, empowering their engineers to manage phases post-cutover themselves.
