Role Summary

Our clients are ambitious organisations with a desire to lead in their industries. We serve them with complex enterprise solutions delivered through an agile, lightweight design approach leveraging the best of Google's platforms.

We are looking for an expert with a true understanding of the issues businesses face and experience working with them to create robust, scalable, elegant, flexible and relevant software solutions that truly transform industries.

You’ll lead and grow a practice of Application Development experts, creating a new application development  portfolio in conjunction with other practice areas and provide portfolio sales support to contribute towards the successful conversion of prospects to customers. Your role will include working with clients in a delivery capacity to support the design and implementation of innovative solutions and ensuring substantial additional business. You'll be working with some of the biggest brands in the UK at senior levels, acting as a trusted advisor. You will also be working with some of the brightest minds at Appsbroker and Google to develop new go-to-market propositions.



Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain  a compelling Web Application Development  strategy/portfolio and develop disruptive repeatable propositions that leverage industry experience 

  • Support the sales team with expert customer guidance on how business challenges can be solved with relevant cloud based web applications, mapping requirements to best-in-class agile delivery, selecting the most appropriate architecture, and evaluating non-functional attributes such as security, usability,portability and stability

  • Build and maintain executive relationships with customers, influence long-term strategic direction, and act as a trusted advisor to ensure retention and growth in spend

  • Manage multiple customer opportunities through the entire business cycle simultaneously, working with cross-functional teams as necessary

  • Be able to travel as required by the business

  • Be required to generate proposals built and focused around identified business needs

  • Build and manage a team of web Application Development consultants , driving revenue and utilisation targets

  • Deliver innovative presentations internally and externally regarding the Application Dev propositions

  • Maintain an understanding of current technology and create blog posts and white papers to promote our brand and help cement our position as a leader in the field.

  • Provide Technical Leadership and work closely with the Appsbroker Applications Development team which has established web application development capabilities:  Front end, Back end, automated Testers, Scrum master and Business Analysts (writing user stories).

 
 

Core Skills

5+ years of expertise in multiple technologies (including Java, .Net,Scala  etc) across software engineering.

  • B2B, B2C web application experience using a cloud platform stack

  • Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods and leading software development teams in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment

  • Understanding of web application development methodology which centres around user journeys and how to focus on building value for the users of an application.  (User-centric Enterprise web application development)

  • Understanding of how to build cloud agnostic web apps (that can be moved to other Clouds) using Containers, web application container frameworks, UI web frameworks and identity management for controlling roles and application access

  • The gravitas to engage effectively with C-level stakeholders and establish Technical Strategy

  • Team management

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, (experience with writing blogs and white papers is desirable)

  • Understanding of the issues businesses face and experience working with them to create robust, scalable, portable, secure and relevant software solutions ton the cloud hat truly transform industries

  • Broad understanding of customer needs; business cases and how customers justify analytic spend financially

  • Familiarity with use cases (i.e. workflow based) in  enterprise such as retail, manufacturing, fintech, insuretech and telecoms

  • Degree-level education (preferable)
